Expression comes in many languages and colours, and colours have always intrigued me. The way it changes, the way it flows, the way one colour can affect another. This is a passion that has always been present in me since I was young, and I carry with me today.
I spent my early childhood in boarding schools during the fifties, when the pace of life was very different. The dusky desert beiges of Bahrain turned into bright forest greens the year that I moved to Europe, and my perspective of life changed drastically. The new experiences and sights that I observed informed my new perspective, and I developed an eye that would help me see the world differently.

I started tinkering with art in my early years of University, and since then through the years I gravitated towards collecting art, and Bahraini art in particular. Even as I entered the field of business and had less time to devote to the practice of painting personally, the medium was never far from my mind. Through this perspective of leadership, I gained the tools to express myself through dedication, and the vivid colours and sounds of my childhood gave way to a sea of black and gray business attire. I became a regular at exhibitions in Bahrain, and strived to collect work from local artists. I would take into consideration, the colours they choose, the techniques they execute, the areas they highlight, the background they work.
