The Kingdom of Bahrain has been famous for its gold industry. Bahraini gold was held in high regard thanks to its high quality and purity, as well as for the distinctive engravings whose designs recall the heritage and authenticity of the olden days. As a tribute to this unique aesthetic element, and as part of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ (BACA) 2017 program, entitled “Our Year of Archaeology” and with support from GFH Financial Group, BACA is organizing a special event to install a large-scale model of “Al-Murtahshah”, a type of necklace worn by women that is very well-known in Bahrain and the wider Gulf. The event is taking place in Bab Al-Bahrain because of the close association this part of the Capital has with the industry.
