H.E Shaikha Mai Bids Farewell to Outgoing French Ambassador, Historical Cultural Cooperation between both countries highlighted

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, BACA, received, on 7 September 2017, the outgoing French Ambassador to Bahrain, Bernard Regnauld-Fabr, in the presence of Advisor for Cultural Cooperation at the French embassy Dominique Chastres.

During the meeting, H.E stressed the need for continuous cooperation between both countries especially after the very important French presence during the annual cultural activities in Bahrain, wishing the French ambassador success in his future diplomatic duties. H.E also said that Bahrain-France’s relations are deeply-rooted in history and are based on mutual cooperation and promoting dialogue between East-West, thanking the French embassy for its role in further enhancing bilateral relations by supporting the youth and cultural momentum in Bahrain, for his constant cooperation with BACA which yielded a variety of cultural activities including art galleries, concerts and training workshops.

H.E Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, France’s Outgoing Ambassador to Bahrain, was briefed on the major future cultural events and activities and the Bahraini cultural momentum, especially BACA's preparations for the new year 2018, celebrating Muharraq as the Capital of Islamic culture. French Archaeological Expedition, celebrating its 40th anniversary, and the constant presence of French experts, testify to the fruitful relationships between both countries and unearthing many historical valuable Bahraini treasures throughout the country.

The French ambassador lauded distinguished relations between Bahrain and France, underlining the key role of BACA in promoting cultural cooperation. The French Ambassador also hailed the kingdom's steps to boost its status as a regional and international civilisational hub, wishing BACA every success in its future cultural projects.
