India National Congress President Visits Bahrain National Museum

Mr. Rahul Gandhi India National Congress President, visited on 9 January 2018, Bahrain National Museum, as part of official visit to Bahrain.

Mr. Rahul Ghandi, and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA)’s Museums Director H.E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who briefed his guests about the history of the museum, most valuable acquisitions and exhibitions organized according to the historic period of every artifact discovered. H.E Shaikh Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Director of Museums Directorate at BACA, welcomed the delegation and accompanied them in a guided tour.

During his visit, India National Congress President lauded the strong relations between the two Bahrain and India, stressing the importance of developing mutual and constructive relationships between both peoples and the two friendly nations.
The Indian delegation toured the different sections of the museum, which includes three halls devoted to archaeology and the ancient civilizations of Bahrain and its bright heritage. They were briefed about the museum’s sections which contain a collection of important historic artefacts depicting the Bahraini rich heritage. During the visit, the British delegation toured the different sections of the museum, which includes three halls devoted to archaeology and the 4000 years-old ancient civilization of the Dilmun, while two other halls depict Bahrain's culture, Customs and Traditions Hall, lifestyle and handicrafts. They expressed appreciation of the museum’s content, historical data and documents reflecting the deeply-rooted history of this land.
Mr. Rahul Ghandi, and his accompanying delegation also visited the 6th edition of Bahrain’s International Sculpture Symposium, held at the museum’s backyard and will run until January 16th 2018.
