‏Inauguration of “Pathway to Freedom and Peace” Exhibition, At  The Art Center

 

On the occasion of the 75th  anniversary of the final stage of the Second World War, the Art Centre hosted the inauguration of  “Pathway to Freedom and Peace” exhibition on , Wednesday 17 April, 2019.  The inauguration was held with the presence of H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, and H.E Mr. Igor Kremnev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The exhibition, which is organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom with support of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, will continue until 20 April,  open daily from 9:00 am-8:00pm for visitors.

The exhibition portrays some of most deadly and devastating WWII photos, showing pictures of this world conflict that gathered most of the globe’s nations in an conflicting wars between two different camps. The photos also show the role by the  Soviet Union’s army in World War II, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War, liberation of European-occupied territories, eastern Europe ( Belarus, Poland, Baltic States and Ukraine).

The Art Centre, considered to be one of the City’s finest galleries, and emerged as a leading force in the country for presenting prestigious exhibitions of important artists, hosts  periodically hosts different art exhibitions by Bahraini and others coming from Arab and regional countries  giving the visitors an opportunity to enjoy the unique cultural and art scene in the kingdom of Bahrain. The Culture Authority aims through these art exhibitions to reach out to the whole world, making Bahrain a citadel of cultures and civilisations.
