Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities’ preparations are underway to launch the 27th  edition of the Annual Bahrain Heritage Festival, held under the patronage of His May God Protect Him, from 24 April until 3 May 2019, near Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fatih Fort in Riffa.

This year’s festival,  themed “Arabian Horses”, will  reflect an inherent part of Bahrain’s civilization and history, showcasing various aspects from the past that shaped Bahrain’s culture and reflect the sheer depth of its civilization and human heritage. Indeed, Horses have always been part of Bahraini culture. A unique collection of pure-bred Arabian horses has been preserved on the island for over two centuries, a source of pride and admiration locally and regionally.

the festival will also offer the public a rich program, featuring local traditional handicrafts which are still practiced by many Bahrainis. This year's festival focuses on “Arabian Horses” in a special venue whose location and surrounding environment provide the perfect setting to get to know one of the defining elements of Bahrain's rich heritage. The event will also present an array of activities that will suit all ages, like children’s workshops highlighting the authenticity and beauty of Arabian horses. The festival will also present a wide variety of folkloric shows, traditional and modern products as well as a traditional market and cafes, offering the visitors a unique exceptional and comprehensive experience.

Through the organization of this annual heritage festival, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities reaffirms its commitment the richness of the local heritage with its tangible and intangible elements, given that the festival has become an important rendez-vous for Bahrainis and visitors. In fat, the fact the festival   has gained worldwide reputation and vigor since its launch in 1992 thanks to the gracious auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa
