A joint exhibition by artist Areej Rajab and Poet Badr Alruwaihi

Bringing contemporary art and poetry into dialogue, “Fusion with Passion” exhibition is a multi-disciplinary pioneering project encompassing new commissions in a diverse mix of media and forms, a beauty tango concert dance between the brush and the pen, rainbow colours and words of poetry, an artistic mixture between the art of drawing and poetry writing, adding, thus, an unprecedented new dimension, different from other previous experiences in the creative art duel. The project draws notable artist, Areej Rajab and poet Badr Al-Ruwaihi into creative discourse centered around the main theme of this harmonious talk of art, namely the ‘Rose, chosen as the main abstract subject for this experiment. Each creative talent has been invited to paint, write, perform, read or present in visual form an original work of poetry in response to this common artwork, adding some transparent philosophical reflections here, or colorful flirtations there in a harmonious identification based on laying down questions for the receiver to interpret. Therefore, they unleash the creative imagination of the perceiver, who is left free to pick up his own interpretations and understandings of the message and react accordingly without any limits or boundaries to constraint his creative mind.

The “Fusion with Passion” art project depicts the ‘Rose’ or the ‘Flower’ as a multi-faceted imaginative act of narrating or reflecting on an artwork by the receiver, a reflection of the shifting light and color of love and an expression of the alchemy of the transforming energy in his visionary ways. The viewer/listener will be grounded in the gaze of the beloved country, or as he lives the vigil of love through a surrendered heart towards his tender loving mother, the passionate love of his beloved, or as the inspirational embrace of Mother Nature. The viewer will contemplate on the simplicity of life and its blessings and complexities, that same game of life we went through during 2020 with all its loneliness and alienation, conflicts and huge obstacles and challenges.

 
The “Fusion with Passion” art experience reflects the return to tenderness of the bright life floating into us, a welcoming invitation to carry on the nature instinct to survive, to travel the world and the seven seas with sweet dreams, to reach out to each other and communicate, to flourish and blossom like a rose in the garden.
