Yemeni Prime Minister Visits Bahrain National Museum

Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin Daghar and his accompanying delegation paid a visit, on 21 August 21017, to Bahrain National Museum on the sidelines of their official visit to Bahrain. Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, Yemeni Ambassador to Bahrain Ali Hassan Al Ahmedi and officials were also present.

The Yemeni Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA)’s Museums Director H.E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa who hailed the visit, lauding strong relations between the two brotherly countries.

H.E Shaikh Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Director of Museums Directorate at BACA, welcomed the delegation and accompanied them in a guided tour, briefing his guests about the history of the museum, most valuable acquisitions and exhibitions organized according to the historic period of every artifact discovered.

During her visit, the Yemeni delegation toured the different sections of the museum, which includes three halls devoted to archaeology and the ancient civilizations of Bahrain and its bright heritage. The Yemeni delegation got informed about the museum’s sections which contain a collection of important historic artefacts depicting the Bahraini rich heritage. They expressed appreciation of the museum’s content, historical data and documents reflecting the deeply-rooted history of this land.

The Yemeni Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmad Obeid Daghar, expressed his admiration of the valuable artifact showcased, lauding the role of BACA in maintaining the national identity and highlighting Bahrain’s historic and civilisational value.


Worth to mention that the republic of Yemen has always been present and active in Bahrain’s cultural scene with many cultural participations, the most recent of which was during the 9th edition of Bahrain Summer Festival from July 7 to 7 August 2017. Many artistic shows were held in cooperation between BACA and the Yemeni embassy in Bahrain.
