H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Al-Salam Bank CEO, “Muharraq, Capital of Islamic Culture” and Pearling Trail Exhibition Highlighted

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, received on 21 August 2017, Mr. Yusuf Taqi, Al-Salam Bank CEO and discussed with him ways and means of boosting cooperation between both sides.

The BACA President praised Al-Salam Bank's role in promoting the national economic movement. H.E reviewed the 2018 cultural programs, events and Bahrain’s celebrations marking Muharraq as the Capital of Islamic Culture. Both sides discussed cooperation to boost Bahrain's standing on the cultural tourism map by implementing the cultural strategy and promoting cooperation with the private sector. Indeed, Bahrain has always been keen to preserve its intellectual and cultural heritage, its national identity and to enhance civilization and cultural exchanges between people. This achievement is another of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s great endeavours reflecting its pioneer leading role in knowledge and culture in the region, as the famous Pearling Path that will be completed next year.

H.E highlighted the importance of stepping up joint cooperation to promote the cultural momentum in Bahrain, describing the effort as a collective responsibility which brings the public and private parties together. H.E lauded the crucial role of the private sector to promote cultural activity and cement the national identity of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the first place.


The Al-Salam Bank CEO, for his part, commended H.E strenuous efforts to enhance the cultural activities in Bahrain, expressing admiration for the wonderful work undergone by Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Antiquities to make Bahrain a world culture hub. Mr. Taqi also lauded the BACA efforts in enriching the cultural movement in Bahrain and in the region after his visit to the Pearling Path exhibition.
