Bahrain Culture Authority Celebrates Arab Poetry Day At the Tree of Life Site
Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is holding an evening of poetry and music in celebration of “ Arab Poetry Day” on 21 March 2017 at 7:00 pm, at the Tree of Life site in Sakhir. The event is free for the public and it comes as part of the 12th edition of Spring of Culture, organized by BACA in cooperation with EDB and the private sector to present an array of cultural activities.
Ta’a la Shabab’s music band, Harmony, will perform music concert whereby many poems of late poet Ghazi al Gosaibi and Qassem Haddad will be enjoyed. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the Tree of Life Visitor Center and embark in a sweet journey throughout the whole world riding the magic lovely words of poems and poetry from all corners of the globe.
Worth to mention that Bahrain celebrates annually the Arab Poetry Day, which was voted and agreed during Arab Culture Ministers 19th meeting, held in Riyadh in 12-13 January 2015. Thus, this annual celebration has become a tradition in the Arab countries, in parallel to World Poetry day celebrations. Indeed, Egypt was the first Arab state to host this event in 2015.
