H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Palestinian Minister of Culture Mutual Cooperation Highlighted

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), received on 12 April 2017, Palestinian Minister of Culture, Ihab Bseiso, and discussed with him ways to boost cultural cooperation between both countries

H.E, BACA President attached great importance to promoting intellectual and cultural communication among Arab nation, noting the many common cultural grounds between Bahrain and Palestine. H.E lauded the Palestinian cultural presence at the local level attributed to the constructive cooperation between the BACA and Palestine's Embassy in Bahrain. The meeting was an opportunity to give her guest an overview of the programs planned by BACA as Bahrain celebrates “ Our Year of Archaeology 2017”, the Authority’s plans to attract visitors from all over the world.

The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation and exchange of expertise in the management of heritage sites, as well as the future cultural exchange. They also underscored the crucial importance of holding exhibitions and cultural events in building bridges between brotherly countries of Bahrain and Palestine. They agreed that Bahrain to attend Palestine International Book Fair 2018 to be held in Ramallah, and Palestine to attend the Bahrain International Book Fair 2018 to coincide with celebrating Muharraq, the capital of Islamic Culture 2018.

The Palestinian Minister, for his part, praised BACA's efforts in building bridges of communication with Arab countries, looking forward to further strengthening cultural cooperation with Bahrain.

Mr. Ehab Bseiso, the Palestinian Minister of Culture is on a visit to Bahrain at the invitation of Shaikh Ibrahim Culture and Research Center, had enjoyed and all those who attended a memorable evening of poetry at the House of Poetry on Monday night. The event is part of Center’s cultural season program, “ Adventure is Part of Life”, and the 12th edition of the Spring of Culture.
