H.E Shaikha Mai receives American Ambassador, Common historical deep relations highlighted

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) President has received the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E William Roebuck, and explored the bilateral cooperation ties and means of boosting cultural cooperation, on 10 May 2018.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed the US Ambassador and briefed him about the major culture and art shows and exhibitions as part of “ Our Year of Archaeology 2017” events. H.E added that the importance of the Bahraini heritage is and will be highlighted through many events the whole year. Among these special occasions celebrating national heritage, we mention as the Annual 25th edition of the Heritage Festival, inauguration of al-Khalifiyah Library and Al-Khamis Mosque Visitor center.

H.E William Roebuck, US Ambassador, for his part, commended Bahrain's cultural activities, expressing admiration for the wonderful work undergone by Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Antiquities. Cultural exchange and co-operation has also been spotlighted by US ambassador, who expressed his admiration for the cultural and tourist infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain. H.E William Roebuck stressed keenness to closely cooperate with BACA and holding joint cultural activities and participating in cultural workshops to exchange expertise.

At the end of the meeting, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, thanked the US Ambassador for his visit that reflects a genuine will to consolidate cultural cooperation between both countries.
