“ Epic of Gilgamesh” Concert Tickets on Sale

Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities has announced that the “Epic of Gilgamesh” concert tickets are on sale now. On the occasion of the Arab Tourism Day, launched back in 2013, which coincides with the anniversary of the Arab Muslim traveler Ibn Battuta, the Bahrain National Theater will host this mesmerizing music performance concert, on February 25 2018, specially prepared for this world concert by Abed Azriya entitled “The Epic of Gilgamesh”.

The National Theater concert is inspired by the Epic of Gilgamesh, the most celebrated work from Ancient Mesopotamia that flourished for more than a millennium in Babylonia and Assyria and was transmitted throughout the Middle East. Written and composed by Abed Azrié, the show is a story of a friendship which, born out of rivalry, was forged through perils and exalts in common exploits then unravels painfully in a tragic death. It touches upon a great theme: the hubris of the hero who doesn't know when to stop in his streak of victories and ends up offending the gods.

The evening of music maestro will be Alain Joutar, accompanied by the Notre-Dame University Choir – Louaizé, Watarieyet Music Band, Pari and Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band, Bahrain. Tickets are available at Virgin Megastore City Center or via its website.

Worth to mention that the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO) has urged all Arab countries to celebrate the Arab Tourism Day on February 24. The event coincides with birthday of Ibn Battuta and is marked this year under the slogan of "sustainable development of tourism
