Culture Authority Honors Participants at Bahrain International 6th Sculpture Symposium

In parallel with the 44th edition of the Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition, held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, on 17 January 2018, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) honoured artists and participants at the 6th Bahrain International Sculpture Symposium. The event was attended by H.E Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Bahrain Arts Society Honorary President, Egyptian world -renowned sculptor Adam Hunein, honorary president of the 6th edition of this year’s symposium.

The 12 artists participating at the 6th Bahrain International Sculpture Symposium showcased their artworks that will be distributed along the Pearling Path in Muharraq city.

Speaking for the occasion, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities thanked Bahrain Arts Society honorary president Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for his role in promoting the fine arts movement in the kingdom. H.E also extended thanks to Egyptian world -renowned sculptor Adam Hu nein for his prominent role in enriching the art scene in the Arab world, and in Bahrain especially, saying that the symposium succeeded to achieve cultural interchange between Bahraini artists and others coming from all over the world.

During the ceremony, each sculptor was presented with miniature model sculpture, amazingly masterminded by creative artist Adam Hunein. Indeed, 12 artists participated this year in the symposium coming from Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Serbia, Turkey, Spain, France and Japan. They gathered at the backyard of Bahrain National Museum for 10 days to eternalize the moment by making individual sculptures, all of them somehow celebrating "Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture 2018".
