H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Omani Ambassador

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, BACA, received, on 10 June 2018, the Omani Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E Abdulla bin Rashid bin Ali Al-Medelewi, , and discussed ways and means to enhance cooperation to achieve joint cultural projects.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed her guest and stressed the importance of maintaining the strong relations between Bahrain and Oman extended thanks to the ambassador for the his exerted efforts to enhance Bahraini-Omani relations. H.E also informed H.E Abdulla bin Rashid bin Ali Al-Medelewi about the latest cultural developments in the kingdom, citing the on-going preparations to host the 42nd World Heritage Committee meeting on 24 June 2018, BACA’s celebrations of “Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture 2018”, holding of two concerts marking Eid Al-Fitr, the official launch of the 10th edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival too.

The Omani ambassador, for his part lauded BACA’s role in enriching the cultural scene in the kingdom by planning different amazing cultural events and exhibitions, promoting, thus, Bahrain’s position and role as a regional and international cultural center. Ambassador Al-Medelewi also praised the efforts of BACA in the field of heritage conservation, antiquities protection and the promotion of local cultural mobility.

Oamani ambassador, H.E Abdulla bin Rashid bin Ali Al-Medelewi also expressed his readiness to cooperate with BACA in order to enhance relations between the two brotherly countries.
