Bahrain Summer Festival Events & Activities for Everyone for Two  Months

The “Summer  Festival” returns this year with a new series of top regional and international live musical and theatrical performances, apart from a range of artistic activities and creative workshops for family and children. Organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the two months-long event continues to build on its reputation as one of the most anticipated events of the year, thanks to its focus on bringing multi-cultural family-friendly entertainment to the region. Held under the slogan “Muharraq Capital of Islamic Culture”, the 10th  edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival is returning with a thrilling consecutive two-month program at the “ Special Events Tent”  near Arad Fort.

The festival, will offer a variety of events,  activities and workshops  from 18 June – 18 August. The first week of the festival will celebrate  the Mohammed bin Faris Band featuring artists and musicians and members of folk music groups in the kingdom, performing various types of traditional local musical genres and songs on June 18, 20, 22, 27,  at 6:15 pm . Arad Fort will also host the Bahrain Police Music Band,  presenting a variety of musical shows that blend between military music and authentic traditional Bahraini music on 23 July at 6:45 pm. The Cultural Hall will host “Maqamat Badi’ Al-Zaman Al-Hamathani”;  Moroccan comedy and Theatrical vignettes that organically and seamlessly blend various art forms with comedic situations inspired by Arabian folklore and characters such as Abu Al-Fateh Al-Iskandari and Issa bin Hisham and others on 25-26-27 July at 8:15 pm. On 25 June at 8:15 the public will certainly enjoy Malysian  Zapin Dance show, a celebrated Malaysian dance style was once performed for royal guests at the special Events Tent. The tent will also host “ Magic Show” on 21 & 28 June at 7:00 pm and Puppets Show on 20, 26 & 27 June at 7:00pm.
 
The arts corner workshops will also host a number of children’s events such as Cork-making and painting workshop from 18-21 June from 5-8 pm, Little Artist workshop, 22-23 June from 5-8 pm, Clay workshop  22-23 June from 5-8 pm, Folk Cartoon Painting from 18-23 June from 5-8 pm, while my Life Wheel making workshop will be held from21-23 June from 5-8 pm at the same location.

Workshops will continue during the first the week of the festival  to accommodate and welcome the little ones during this summer festival at the Events Tent from 5 to 8 pm, such as the Collage & Mosaic from 21-23 June, Little Environmentalist workshop from 18-23 June, discovery trip pearling workshop - from 18-23 June,  Letters Dialogues workshop during the period 20-23 June, the Little Photographer from 18-23 June, Balloons Making workshop from 18-23 June, Necklace Printing & Gathering from 18-20, Cooper-Forming workshop from 21-24 June, Face Painting workshop  from 18-23 June. Special-needs will also have their long-awaited program of entertainment by a special dedicated theatre corner for them to host amazing three workshops; Cup Cake Painting workshop on 25 June from 7:00-7:45 pm, Photo-Assembling Skills workshop from5:00 pm- 5:45 pm, while Pottery Painting workshop will be held from 6-00 pm-6:45pm. Other workshops will be organized, such as Basket-Making from palm trees on 21& 23 June at 5:00 pm & 5:45 pm, Caricature Art workshop  from 6:00 pm-6:45 pm, Virtual reality workshop will be held on 20 & 21 June from 7:00 pm to 7:35 pm and on 22 June at 6:00 until 6:45pm. Decoupage Art workshop will be organized on 20 & 29 June at 5:00 pm & 5:45 pm,  Photo-Assembling Skills workshop on 21 & 27 June at 6:00 until 6:45pm and on 25 June from 5:00pm-5:45pm. The Theatre Corner program will feature “ Step by Step towards a Perfect body weight” on 22 June at 7:00pm and on 26 June at 7:30 pm, “ Safety & Security Sketches” on 23 June at 7:30 pm, and the “ Little First- Aid Man” on 26 June at 7:00pm.

Special corners at the festival tent will present an array of events during the period of the festival from 18 June-18 August 2018, welcoming children in a safely fun and joy special spaces daily from 5-9 pm. In addition, the little ones can also model up their creative sports skills through “ Sports Corner”, every day from 5-8 pm enjoying activities, such as football, basketball, Gymnastics, bodybuilding, Aerobics, Taekwondo and Kickboxing. Children will also have the opportunity to enjoy the “ The Children Popular Market Corner”, whereby they will discover commerce and trading skills practised by their ancestors from 5-8 pm. Heritage exhibitions will also hosted by Events Tent; popular and folk puppets show will be presented from 18-21 July 2018 from 5-8 pm, Natural Sciences exhibition will be held from 23 August-18 August from 5-8pm too. Children’s programs will also feature “ little Artist” corner from 5-8, Children’s Cinema corner, Children Magazines corner, Entertainment Games corner and  Popular Folk games corner.
