Registration still open, “Muharraq Short Film Award” Competition

Registration for “ Muharraq Short Film Award” competition is still open for participants who wish to take part in this endeavour in celebration of “Muharraq as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018”, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities announced.

The deadline for registration is end of November and the Award winners will be announced at the BACA’ events dedicated to Bahrain National Day Celebrations during December 2018. Participants are requested to abide by the rules and regulations and all art works ‘s materials properly submitted via BACA’s web site : www.culture.gov.bh

The competition’s Selection Committee , which is made up of experts in art, film industry and cinema, has been formed and charged with the task of evaluating the best works submitted under the above requirements and make the selection of the winners.

The award reflects the keenness of Bahrain Culture Authority to support and encourage all works of art and culture, stressing the importance of discovering and supporting the new creative and gifted talents in Bahrain. This initiative also enhances BACA’s partnership with different government entities and civil society organizations, especially those concerned with culture and its role in society’s development.

Worth to mention that “ Muharraq Short Film Award Competition”, launched by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities last October 2018, in cooperation with Bahrain Cinema Club, aims to enable young talents in Bahrain to develop their abilities in the film industry, the media and arts skills, encouraging local independent filmmakers to elaborate their visions about old city of Muharraq, whether directly or indirectly.
