Bab al Bahrain Hosts “ 5 p.m. AT Bab” Events

Manama, a bright city with a rich culture, has an abundance of places to shop, including Bab al Bahrain souks, which specialize in local handicrafts, and grand malls that offer something for everyone. Moreover, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is planning to launch its most new challenging cultural , “ 5.00 p.m At Bab”, every Thursday at 5:00 p.m. on 11 October 2018. Live culture activities will be held at the façade of Bab al Bahrain ( Souq’s side), whereby the public will enjoy an array of cultural events, music, crafts, artifacts, arts and foods.

There is no doubt that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities seeks through this cultural program to create an attractive mesmerizing environment for all sorts of artistic and cultural activities, as well as rehabilitating this iconic area of Bab al Bahrain.

Events will start in October 2018 with a music evening concert performed by Ismael Dawwas Folk Music Group, which will revive sweet memories of Bahrain’s popular music heritage on 11 October 2018. On 18 October 2018, there will be a children workshop on “ Burial Mounds” giving the kids the opportunity to discover Dilmun seals, followed by an educational manual activities to make similar stereotypes. On 25 October 2018, participants will enjoy a free style drawing workshop to be held at Bab al Bahrain under the supervision of renowned artists.

During November and December 2018, Bab al Bahrain will host ““ 5.00 p.m At Bab”, an initiative that aims to embrace lovers and artists in a gorgeous cultural experience, encompassing “ Food At Al-Bab” event. The public is invited to taste all sorts of foods offered while enjoying music performances. In addition, the iconic Bab al Bahrain will also host “Crafts Market” presenting different manual crafts to the public, as well as “Arabic Calligraphy” workshop, coinciding with the Arabic Language Day, whereby participants will discover how to write on palm tree branches.

Worth to mention that “ 5.00 p.m At Bab” cultural activities coincide with a series of BACA’s events scheduled for 2018, such as the 27th edition of Bahrain International Music Festival, to be held from 18 -27 October 2018. UNESCO World Heritage List site, Pearling Path Visitor’s Center , will also be inaugurated end of November, 2018. Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities will also offer an array of vivid and fervent culture and arts events during Bahrain’s National Day celebrations.
