Under the High Patronage of H.R.H. Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, May God Protect Him, Bahrain’s 45th  Annual Fine Arts Exhibition Kicks off on 20 February 2019 at its venue, Arena Tent, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel-Bahrain with more than 100 artists taking part. The exhibition comes in a time Bahrain Culture Authority is planning to honor the Historical achievements of  the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a year baptized as the  “ Year of Celebrations 2019”.

 The exhibition will shed lights on a selection of the most exquisite art works masterminded by refined painters, Bahrainis and artists in residence. As every year, the local art community gather in this important meeting to display their works among their  peers during this event, which will feature more than one hundred participations from artists from different art backgrounds, schools of artistic thought and  schools of painting technique. Free to express their inner feelings and represent their ideas via art, these artists will engender a multitude of styles and techniques, using different means of expression, producing, thus, a variety of art works, paintings, assembly constructed art works and other forms of arts.   

 The Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition,  set in a broader and wider venue this year, will showcase exceptional and unique artworks by symbolic and iconic painters and characters who have shaped the expressionist and plastic arts’ history in Bahrain. This year’s novelty will certainly the warm welcome the Exhibition has made to two of most prominent galleries in the Arab World, namely Athr Gallery ( Saudi Arabia), Agial Art Gallery, Beirut, Lebanon. Between those two, the visitor will be amazed by the variety of the modern artworks displayed, young talented and creative artists showcasing a colorful display of styles, video applications,  multimedia techniques, and other  different mediums of expression, produced by Arab artists from the Arab Gulf region, Middle East, Egypt, Sudan and North Africa region. 

A specially dedicated exhibition space will allocated to artworks to be showcased at Al-Riwaq and Al-Bareh galleries, given their important role during the last decade in moulding and framing a new creative and talented generation  of artists through the organization of solo exhibitions, workshops, implementation of expertise exchange projects between Bahraini artists and their Arad and international counterparts. Finally, Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition will present, as it has always been the case, the annual participations of Bahraini and resident  artists, as well as artworks by pioneers of the Fine Art movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  

During the opening ceremony day, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities will announce the exhibition’s annual competition awards, which is supervised by an international Arbitration Committee. The public will discover the winner of who will receive the prestigious  "Al-Dana" Award, designed by artist Khalil Al-Hashimi, while the second  winner will have the opportunity to showcase his/her artwork during one-month at the Art Centre. Meanwhile, the third winner will be granted one of the  notable artist residencies abroad.

In addition, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities will , for the first time, organize the “Audience Award”, whereby the visitors and  the public attending Bahrain’s 45th  Annual Fine Arts Exhibition will be able to select the  best artwork among participating annual artists via an interactive electronic platform. The Winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition, that is on 30 March 2019. BACA’s objective behind this “ Audience Award” is to involve the audience and the public in the process of making the cultural-artistic events and endeavors. 
 
Worth to mention that “Bahrain’s 45th  Annual Fine Arts Exhibition”, held Under the High Patronage of H.R.H. Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, May God Protect Him, since its inception in 1972, is cconsidered to be the biggest and most important annual meeting of artists in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Those who were once young and enthusiastic art students hoping to take part in the exhibition are now the pioneers of the Bahraini Art Movement. This exhibition now stands witness of the evolution of the Bahraini Art Scene throughout the years and a reference documenting  Art in Bahrain’s history, a living example of a vivid culture scene in constant development.
