Reaffirming the importance of the strong role played by the civil society, which is considered as an essential partner to enhance its efforts in the preservation of archaeological heritage sites, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is pleased to inform the public interested that registration for the planned field visit tour to the Royal burial mounds of A’ali, on 1 March 2019 at 4:00pm, is still open. The participants will be accompanied by the Head of the Danish Archaeological Expedition in Bahrain, Dr. Steffen Larsen. Registration for participation in A’ali Royal Burial Mounds field visit is still open for those (18 years and above) via BACA’s website : www.culture.gov.bh
The aim of the visit for ( +18 years old participants) is to discover the results of the site’s rich archaeological excavations and discoveries made by the Danish team, which will be presented by Dr. Stephen Larsen in English. Worth to mention that Dr. Steffen Larsen published a new Book titled :The Royal Mounds of A'ali in Bahrain; The Emergence of Kingship in the Early Dilmun” , in which he shed lights on the latest archaeological researches and discoveries made by the Danish Archaeological Expedition team at the Royal Burial Mounds of A’ali during the last recent years.
The is no doubt that these field visits and tours organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities are intended to involve the civil society in the efforts aimed at the preservation and safeguard of the archaeological heritage sites. Indeed, BACA strongly advocates awareness spreading plans aimed to value the importance of these millennium burial sites scattered around all areas of Bahrain, given their historical significance as undeniable proofs and genuine evidence to the deeply-rooted history and civilization of this land, Bahrain.
