The 4th last week of 12th edition Bahrain Summer Festival events have started on 23 August 2020, offering a bouquet of art, literature and diversified cultural activities. Bahrain Summer Festival’s lovely little ones will have a treat on this fourth week; on 24 August, children will certainly enjoy “String Print on Butterfly” workshop, and learn how to make artworks using paint covered strings throughout this workshop, presented by the Bahrain National Museum. The same day there will be another workshop titled “Magnet Making”, whereby the little ones will assemble magnets using personal pictures and residual seeds to decorate their houses’ fridges   under the guidance of Noor Hasan.

On 25 August, Bahrain Summer Festival presents two workshops; “Paper Restoration” workshop organized by the Bahrain National Museum, offering the chance to learn paper restoration techniques, emphasizing the importance of preserving beautiful and/or valuable papers throughout this workshop. The second workshop titled “First Aid to Artifacts” will help participants discover how to aid artifacts from decay and protect them from their surrounding environmental conditions.

On 26 August, Bahrain Summer Festival invites you to participate in “Fluid Art-Acrylic Pouring” workshop, held in collaboration with Meraki Art Space, and also “Leaf Printing on T-Shirt”, presented by the Bahrain National Museum, teaching participants an easy way to update their basic clothing through leaf printing on fabric. On 27 August, “Puzzle Making” under the guidance of Noor Hasan, will teach the children how to make educational games that teach numbers and letters using homely ice-cream sticks and cans.

On 28 August the festival presents story-telling events, starting with “I Want my Hat” by the storyteller Eman Alghawas, and “The City of Stones” by the story teller Jumana Al-Gassab.  Super Soccer Academy will also show the littles ones the different techniques and basics of football playing.

The Festival’s last cooking arts activities will be held on 29 August with Chef Waddah Swar, founder of Badawi Lebanese Restaurant, will cook an array of healthy dishes inspired by flavors of the Levant. Perfect for the entire family, the dishes can be completed using the simplest of ingredients.

The Remote online virtual tours planned by Bahrain Summer Festival will come to an end with a visit to Bahrain Post Office, guided by the most cherished festival’s characters, “Nakhool & Nakhoola”, showing viewers the different components and corners of Bab-al Bahrain Post Office, a venue that hosts a museum documenting the history of postal services throughout the different modern times.
