Bahrain Culture Authority Mourns the Death of Late H.E Shaikh Isa Bin Rashid
Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) has mourned the death of late Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Second Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and Honorary President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, paying homage to the late Shaikh Isa Bin Rashid and stressing his contribution to Bahrain’s poetry, music and the sport movement.
H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and to la Bahraini, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest his soul in Paradise and to grant patience and solace to all who have known him. H.E said, “With great sadness and grief we mourn the loss of a shining star of Heaven, an iconic personality that has greatly influenced all facets of life in the Kingdom of Bahrain, sports and culture included, the Late H.E Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa, who has tremendously and remarkably contributed to Bahraini authentic spirit’ beautiful manifestations through his poetry and words worldwide”.
H.E added saying: “Our Late poet has spent his life and prolific legacy in serving his country and its people, promoting the sport movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arabian Gulf, the Arab and Asian regions. His love for culture was honored by Bahrain Culture Authority in a special commemorative special ceremony event, held at the Cultural Hall years ago, which is not to be compared with the tremendous love he had for Bahrain”.

Isa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa has created a unique niche within the Gulf’s and Arab world cultural fabrics. His iconic collection of poems centers on patriotic and nostalgic theme, his passion for sports since early childhood mixed with his love for Muharraq city, his birth and childhood place. Renowned sports and literary giant Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa has held many official and civil society positions and responsibilities in media and sports’ domains.
