Bahrain Authority for Culture Celebrates Eid Al-Fitr, And rebroadcasts “ A Tribute to the Great Divas of the Arab World” on its You Tube Channel

Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, as every year, celebrates the end of the holy month’s Eid el Fitr sacred occasion by rebroadcasting the sweet music concert  “ A Tribute to the Great Divas of the Arab World”, which was performed by some of the region’s most talented artists, Ghada Shbeir and Mai Farouk at culturebah@ on You Tube at 8:00 pm. The concert was performed on Bahrain National Theatre stage on January 2019.

These melodies of beautiful musical performance revive some of the exquisite songs by Arab divas from the 1920’s to the 1960’s, when the Arab world was the epicenter of a creative effervescence, where legends such as Oum Kalthoum, Asmahan, Leila Mourad and Fairuz emerged and shaped the golden age of Arabic song with their enchanting voices and indomitable personalities. The supreme distinctive voice beauty of these Orient’s stars still echoes the radio channels throughout the Arab region as they used to be sixty years ago.

The selection of songs perfomed include “ Lamma al Bab ya Habibi Benetwada”, “ Qad Atak Yaatatheru”, “ Sayyed al Hawa Qamari” by Fairuz, “ Hul ya Ghannam” by Sahem Refqi, “ Hayrna Leeh”, by Laila Murad, and “ Fi Youm wa Leila” by Warda etc. The music concert performance specially designed and conducted by Ramzi Aburedwan and Alain Weber, accompanied by Ghada Shbeir and Mai Farouk’s Palestinian Music Group and Arab world, was an astonishing success in Bahrain.
