The Young Artisan - Nails & Threads Workshop

Workshop Overview:

As part of the Young Artisan program, Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre organises a Philography workshop, or drawing with threads and nails. In this workshop, threads and nails are used instead of pen and paper. Nails are fixed to a piece of wood, and then the threads are intertwined with the nails to produce the desired painting.

Workshop topics include:

• Learn how to place nails.
• Identify the appropriate nail length.
• Identify types of thread.
• Learn how to arrange threads.

Workshop Outcomes:

• Make an artwork from threads and nails.
