Kashmiri Embroidery Workshop

Workshop Overview:

Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre organises a workshop on Kashmiri Embroidery; to learn about Kashmiri embroidery and motifs in decorating fabrics and clothes, as well as the types of hand stitches and how to apply them to ready-made patterns.

Workshop Topics:

• A brief history of Kashmiri embroidery.
• Tools and methods of transferring the different design on the fabric.
• Basic stitch types and tips before starting.
• How to embroider the training pattern.
• Applying different forms of stitches.

Workshop Outcomes:

• The trainee should be able to prepare the stitches that have been practised, and implement the different patterns and patterns learnt during the course appropriately.
