The Young Artisan - Create your Gergaoon Bag Workshop

Details of the Workshop:

As part of The Young Artisan program, Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre presents the Create your Gergaoon Bag Workshop. Gergaoon is a cherished cultural celebration in Bahrain and the Gulf region, where children walk through neighborhoods carrying decorated fabric bags or palm-frond baskets, singing traditional songs and receiving sweets and nuts from families in a joyful festive atmosphere.

Workshop Topics:

• Learn about the Gergaoon cultural tradition.
• Learn how to prepare a Gergaoon bag.
• Decorate the Gergaoon bag using creative techniques.

Workshop Outcomes:

• Decorated Gergaoon bag made by the participant.
