Al-Khan Photo Exhibition “ Salalah: Through Bahraini Eyes”

Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Supreme Council for Women (the SCW)'s President, in the presence of H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Minister of Culture, a photo Exhibition compiled by Bahraini artist Abdullah Al-Khan themed: (Salalah Through Bahraini Eyes), was organized by Ministry of Culture at the Arts Center. The show was a selection of photography from the region in Oman depicted by the artist, who was invited by the Omani Ministry of Culture to visit Salalah, and will mark the month of Eco-tourism in Bahrain.

Abdullah Al-Khan, renowned Bahraini photographer, said that he spent three days in Oman, after which he managed to depict 1200 pictures, only 100 multi-corners photos were chosen to showcase in this exhibition. Indeed, the beauty of the second largest city in Oman is captured through the lens of the famous Bahraini Photographer Abdullah Al-khan.

The green, eye-pleasing landscapes of the country-side are so natural and mesmerizing that it makes one pause as if they are standing in heaven, while they are actually in the heart of a friendly desert country. Al-Khan has made his best efforts to capture the raw scenic beauty of Salalah that speaks through his photographic images.

It is worth mentioning that Abdullah Al-Khan, who was born in 1937, began his photography career since 1950 before he graduated from the United Kingdom in 1962.  The artist's archives include more than 1,000,000 photographs from the Kingdom of Bahrain and sisterly GCC states. The artist owns and manages (Bait-ul-Bahrain Photography Home). He was granted the (Efficiency Medallion) by His Majesty the King in February 2011.
