H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Culture, received Chief Executive of BahrainGas company, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. The meeting discussed cooperation between the Ministry and the company, ways and means of supporting activities and projects carried out during the events celebrating “ Our Year of Art”. 

Speaking on the occasion, H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Minister of Culture praised BahrainGas, for their generosity and, whose belief in the importance of cultural investment to Bahrain's society aligns it with this project. The Minister of Culture praised the strenuous efforts deployed by the company in order to make Bahrain an international destination. Bahrain offers great potential as both a regional and a world tourist destination, blessed with 33 islands, a cosmopolitan capital city; an attractive, liberal lifestyle; and a rich history and culture. Steeped in Arab history while openly embracing the modern world, Bahrain’s offers excellent introduction to the Arab world. The country combines traditional Arabic culture, contemporary Gulf glamour and the archaeological legacy of five thousand years of civilization.

H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for his part, reiterated BahrainGas Company’s commitment to Bahrain's development, particularly preserving its rich history and culture. The project will include a viewing area, kiosks and tourist attractions, a scheme, which is being sponsored by Bapco, and scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also discussed cooperation to launch promotional and recreational activities for the GCC nationals to further boost tourism.
