Minister of Culture Receives Al-Arab Channel Director;

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture, received on June 11, 2014, Mr. Jamal Khashoqeji, the Director General of Al-Arab TV Channel, which is set to start broadcasting from Manama by end of this year. Indeed, Bahrain will host the main headquarters while the second office will be located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Al-Arab Satellite News Channel will also launch around twenty media offices all over the world. 

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa underlined the role of the mass media in projecting Bahrain's achievements, pointing out the importance of spotlighting the kingdom's cultural and tourism accomplishments, especially after choosing Manama the Capital of Asian Tourism for the year 2014.The Minister of Culture also emphasised the importance of launching Al-Arab channel in Bahrain which testifies to the kingdom's openness and civilisational richness.


Both sides discussed cooperation between the Culture Ministry and the channel for a quality media production that sheds light on various local and international cultural functions as well as Bahrain's cultural and touristic infrastructure.
Mr. Khashaqeji hailed the Culture Ministry's efforts to boost the cultural scene in Bahrain, stressing that Al-Arab channel will bolster those efforts through its high quality media capabilities.
