As part of its strategy to communicate with all entities and institutions with regard to the implementation follow up of urban cultural projects, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture, received on June 11 2014, Southern Governor Municipal Council President, Mr. Mohsen Al-Bakri.
H.E highlighted the activation of cultural roles in different parts of Bahrain, stressing out the importance of the Southern Governorate and its natural and historical heritage. The area still preserves its intact natural scenery and environment identity, H.E argued.
The Minister of Culture explained that the Tree of Life Visitors' Center marks the start of multiple projects to come, noting Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort , which the Royal family history museum and café that have been attached to it did not change any of Fort historical features, but have made an additional attracting power. Through the development of the Al Riffa Fort as a museum exhibitions' site telling the story of Bahrain's history through the different ages, the Ministry of Culture aims to take the lead in promoting and enhancing cultural tourism projects, which are the foundations of the Ministry's strategies and the country's new development blueprint, Vision 2030.
