President of the Arab Organization of Tourism Celebrates World Tourism Day with Bahrain

Arab Organisation of Tourism President Dr. Bandar bin Fahad Al Faheid has taken part in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations for World Tourism Day, upon an invitation by H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Minister of Culture and Chairperson of the 16th Session of Arab Tourism Ministers Meeting. Dr. Al-Faheid has also participated in many events and festivities celebrating Eid Al –Adha.

Dr. Al Faheid expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to H.E Shaikha Mai for the invitation and lauded her strenuous efforts to develop the tourism sector in Bahrain and in the Arab region as a whole. Dr. Al-Faheid also highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s strategy to promote Arab eco-tourism as a promising alternative.


The Minister of Culture stressed the importance of the Manama Capital of Asian Tourism 2014 programme, which aims at establishing a cross-cultures and civilizations dialogue, especially in the Asian continent. The Minister of Culture also praised the leading role played by the Arab Tourism Organization and World Tourism Organization. These organizations are working hard and accomplishing set goals that will enhance and develop the tourism sector, which generates revenue and benefits local communities.


During this visit the Arab Organisation of Tourism President also held many meetings with both the Minister of Culture and H.E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamood Al Khalifa, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism. They dealt with topics and issues regarding the rehabilitation programs and investment guarantees through the Islamic Development Bank. Dr. Al –Faheid also reviewed Bahrain’s tourism strategy for 2015.
