After a month of festivities and joyful events, the 7th Bahrain Summer Festival edition presented its last music show on 29 August 2015 at the Cultural Hall with a mesmerizing, innovative performance show entitled ‘Beat Bumper’ by the Wrecking Crew Orchestra. The line-up of eclectic family-friendly shows and activities catered to a wide range of ages and interests, from music, song and dance concerts, to theatrical productions, artistic showcases and workshops, and performances.
Hailing from Japan, the eight-member crew shot to fame with their perfectly choreographed sets that are performed in the dark while they wear illuminated costumes. Last night’s audience enjoyed the awe-inspiring showcase at Bahrain’s Cultural Hall. ‘Beat Bumper’, the latest mesmerizing show by innovative Japanese street dance troupe Wrecking Crew Orchestra, blended dance and music, with a fantastic light show. The Osaka-based 8-member crew shot to global international stardom with their perfectly choreographed sets that are performed in the dark while wearing special futuristic illuminated costumes, creating a mind-bending showcase that must be seen to be believed.
Representing Japan, the Wrecking Crew Orchestra has exceptionally creative performances that do not fail to amaze with limitless dance possibilities and fantastically fresh and sharp moves. In 2011, they produced ‘El Squad’ where, dressed in futuristic wire-type illuminated costumes, they created an entirely new style of collaboration between music and dance.
The Bahrain Summer Festival runs until 31st August 2015 and it includes a variety of free cultural, educational and entertainment activities for families at the Nakhool Tent, which is located next to Sitra Mall and is open daily from 4pm to 10pm. Festival mascot Nakhool symbolizes Bahrain’s traditions, culture and history.
