In light of the strong brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries to reaffirm their shared desire to enhance those relations, in accordance with the deep bonds that their peoples have, and move them toward deeper and more extensive levels with regard to culture and tourism, Bahrain Culture and Monuments Authority reaffirmed its coordination and cooperation with Her Excellency Shaikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums Authority. The aim of this experience is to benefit from mutual museum visits in both countries through “To Culture” access cards.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Culture and Monuments Authority, expressed her pride in the cooperation and strong relations that connect Bahrain and Qatar, which reflect deep-rooted ties between the two GCC countries. H.E said, “We witness today a model of GCC common identity as reflected by each individual throughout history and civilizations and how they co-exist and harmonize together.” H.E pointed out that cooperation with Qatar Museums “will be a giant step towards discovering our common history”.
Qatar Museums presented a series of suggestions with regard to the “Culture Pass” access cards initiative, which would enhance Bahraini visits to Qatar museums through number bonuses, such as invitations to major art exhibitions, VIP guided-tours throughout the museum halls in Qatar, and new promising opportunities to attend specialized cultural workshops.
Bahrain has historic and deep-rooted relations with GCC countries that are based on mutual understanding and respect. The Kingdom of Bahrain has taken part in many world class exhibitions, festivals, performances, educational program and cultural exchanges held across GCC countries, such as the latest 5th Heritage Festival in Kuwait. In 2013 Bahrain also hosted the 4th Joint GCC Archaeology Exhibition, a major cultural manifestation which was hailed by all participants.
