H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Mumtalakat CEO

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority (BCAA) President, received on Monday, 16th February 2015, the CEO of Mumtalakat Bahrain Mahmood Al-Kooheji. During the meeting, both parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation to boost the cultural scene in the kingdom.

Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority (BCAA) President updated Al-Kooheji on the Authority’s activities and events with regard to 2015 heritage year ‘Turathna Thara’ana’ (Our Heritage is our Wealth), stressing the importance and crucial role played by the private corporations in preserving heritage and promoting culture. Private sector definitely plays a major role in the creation of a solid cultural and tourism infrastructure in Bahrain. Major achievements and successes were also highlighted by H.E Shaikha Mai during this meeting, stressing the importance of the event in revitalizing tourism and promoting Bahrain as cultural tourism destination on the world tourism map.

H.E highlighted the importance of the role played by private and public institutions in spurring tourism and making Bahrain a favorable destination for tourists from all over the world.

Al-Kooheji lauded the landmark cultural and tourism achievements attained by the Culture Ministry at the local, regional, and international levels. He expressed Mumtakat’s constant readiness to cooperate with the Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority (BCAA) in order to develop vital cultural and tourist projects in the kingdom.
