H.E Shaikha Mai Receives EDB Chief Executive; The Importance of Culture in Sustainable Development Is Highlighted

As part of its strategy in helping develop the cultural scene in the kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, BACA president, received Chief Executive of the EDB, Mr. Khalid Al-Rumaihi, on 8 November 2015, to discuss ways and means of boosting cooperation and implement future common projects with regard to culture infrastructure in the country.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed Mr. Al-Rumaihi, praising the constructive continuous cooperation between Bahrain Authority for Culture & Archeology and the Bahrain Economic Board, which has always lead to achievements and events, such as the annual spring of culture festival.

H.E commended constructive BACA-EDB cooperation, which yields the annual Spring of Culture Festival and a string of other events, stressing the importance of culture in spearheading sustainable economic, tourism and social development. Bahrain’s deeply rooted history and ancient civilizations are the core basis for a cultural tourism, which would contribute towards future social development and identity awareness.

For his part, Mr. Khalid Al-Rumaihi lauded the landmark cultural and tourism achievements attained by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Archeology at the local, regional and international levels. He expressed Bahrain Economic Board’s constant readiness to cooperate with BACA and contribute towards cultural and tourist development in the kingdom of Bahrain.
