Bahrain International Music Festival Welcomes the Mexico Sings to the World Concert

 A trio of Mexican artists, mezzosoprano Encarnación Vazquez, tenor Jose Luis Ordóñez, and pianist Rodolfo Ritter, were set to perform Mexico Sings to the World on October 11th, 2015. The concert was performed at the Cultural Hall and was free for the public.

At the beginning, the Mexican ambassador greeted the audience and expressed his thanks and appreciation to Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Archaeology for such as fruitful cooperation between the Mexican Embassy and the Authority. H.E. expressed his happiness with Bahrain’s International Music Festival program this year. He then went on to introduce the trio to the eager audience.

The festival, which takes place every year during the autumn season, will showcase 6 renowned Arab and international artists from a wide range of cultures and genres, including orchestral compositions and operas, traditional Bahraini and Arabic music, ballets, family musicals, and more. H.E. Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa had earlier emphasized not only the human and cultural aspects of the festival, but also the entertainment value of it, saying, “Music is an open window from which to view the world and get to know the essence of so many cultures and the heritage behind them, and this is what we hope to achieve through the festival. This is especially relevant at this time as we celebrate ‘Our Year of Heritage’ year-long campaign.”

The concert showcased the splendor of Mexico’s culture and art expressed through opera arias and authentically Mexican songs beautifully performed by the trio of internationally-acclaimed artists who played a selection of pieces by renowned Mexican and international composers such as Paul Juon, Carlos Guastavino, and Manuel M. P...
