Euro-Arab Meeting for Young Researchers in Social Sciences

The kingdom of Bahrain is currently hosting the first Arab-European ‘Young Social Researchers Forum’ as part of knowledge-transferring initiative launched by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) between 19 to the 25th of October 2015. It aims to achieve the translation of fifty contemporary books into Arabic in three years. The meeting is part of the ‘Knowledge Transfer Project’.

The event is being held at the Novotel Hotel, Manama in association with the International Sociological Association (ISA), the European Sociological Association (ESA) and the Arab Sociological Association (ASA) and it will kick off at 10:00 am on 19 October 2015.

This is the first forum to be held in an Arab country and has twenty doctoral-level students’ participants from Algeria, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and USA. The forum also includes Arab and foreign sociology professors and researchers. The meeting can accommodate up to 20 young Arab and European researchers with ongoing higher education research projects (Ph.D. or Master’s) who want to have their research discussed in a public forum to further develop them. A number of reputed Arab and non-Arab researchers, experts in framing scientific research, will participate in the meeting.

This meeting is considered a pioneering Bahraini initiative to exchange and transfer knowledge between north and south, cross generations and between different civilizations and peoples.
