Ronald Lauder’s Visit to the Bahrain National Museum

Bahrain National Museum welcomed the visit of American businessman, founder of Neue Galerie in New York, and World Jewish Congress (WJC) President Ronald Lauder on 3 April 2016. The Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities’ representatives toured the guest around the different museum halls, showcasing historical artifacts, documents, manuscripts and exhibitions reflecting the different civilizations of Bahrain through time. Mr. Lauder lauded the creative experience of Bahrain in preserving its heritage and praised BACA’s efforts and activities that enhance national identity and reflect the modern image of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mr. Lauder is an honorary trustee of the World Monuments Fund and he has an impressive record in preserving archeological sites and heritage promotion. In 2001, Lauder opened the Neue Galerie in New York, an art museum across the street from the Metropolitan Museum, dedicated to art from Germany and Austria from the early 20th century. It holds one of the best collections of works by Egon Schiele in the world and is well worth the visit.
