H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Antiquities, has expressed gratitude to HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, for his service and dedication to Bahrain.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired a work meeting today in which he gave his remarks on the state of public utilities and infrastructures in Muharraq governorate and issuance of His Royal Highness's directives in this regard following His Royal Highness's surprise visit to Muharraq yesterday.
His Royal Highness affirmed the need to provide the best quality basic services to ensure the improvement of citizens' living conditions, expressing his dissatisfaction with any project delay no matter its justifications, including Muharraq Central Market project and its consequences.
His Royal Highness directed the speedy implementation and the smoothing out of any delayed actions in coordination with the municipal council and relevant departments.
The Prime Minister directed the revamping of streets and roads in Halat bu Maher and the necessary actions for inviting a public tender for this purpose. He stressed the need for the paving of unpaved streets and the removal of all obstacles obstructing traffic flow from which the inhabitants had complained.
The Premier chaired a work meeting at Gudaibiya Palace with his deputies and the relevant services ministers. His Royal Highness delivered his impressions following his field visit yesterday to Muharrraq.
The Minister of Works, Municipalizes Affairs and Urban Planning gave a presentation in front of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, regarding the status of current projects in the governorate.
In this context, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister directed the taking of practical actions to preserve the sanctity of local residential neighborhoods and to prevent any insertion of expatriate workers accommodation there.
His Royal Highness directed the re-classification of old neighborhoods to expand the options of urban development and construction provided that this will not result in leasing them as labor accommodation.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister also directed the ministers to abide by the rules and regulations and disallow any breach or infringement of state-owned lands or the misuse of public properties for private purposes.
