The Cultural Hall Hosts ‘Seventh Wave’ Night Dance Show

The Cultural Hall will host an exceptional cultural event on 2nd September 2016 at 8pm. ‘Il Mare Custodisce’, or ‘The Sea Guards’, is an incredible night of contemporary dance, film and theatre. The concert event is the result of three weeks of training sessions addressed to children and workshops on contemporary dance and art shows organized at the Art Center. The concert tickets are available at Virgin Megastore for the public.

Children will take part in this visually emotive night of performing arts, which also includes; the ‘SeventhWave’, children's dance and theatre performances, designed dances by Afshin Varjavandi INC and Collective Professional Contemporary dance performances from their critically-acclaimed shows performed internationally, plus a new piece designed for Bahrain, Valentina Renzulli from Fontemaggiore of Perugia in a professional theatre piece, Khalid Al Rowaie from Bahrain in a professional theatre piece, and Jeo Productions' collaboration on a beautiful short film with Bahraini director Summer Ameen and musical talent Iban Perret ‘Ayam Zaman’.

The Seventh Wave (TSW) is a collaborative creation between Joseph Tito, chief executive of film, the documentary company JEO Productions, and Dr Lesley Al-Jishi, an arts enthusiast and mother-of-two.

The Art Center has offered Bahrain-based school pupils aged 6 to 15, sessions in both English and Arabic covering theatre, music, design, dance and film production. It will also act as an events space to host different shows and exhibitions. Joseph and his Chief Operating Officer Josie Houpt, had always wanted to get more involved in the community. A chance brunch conversation with a friend led to the school suggestion. Lesley, a medical director of a private hospital in neighbouring Saudi Arabia, whose sons, British School of Bahrain pupils Badr, 10, and Yousif, eight, were looking for opportunities to develop their artistic talents. International choreographers Afshin Varjavandi and fellow dancer Debora Renzi are on-board alongside experienced theatre teacher Valentina Renzulli. Thus, encouragement, technical advice, healthy self-esteem, self-expression and teamwork were taught during this workshop presented by highly-qualified experts from Italy, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. There will also be a theatre performance, poetry reading with live musical accompaniment and the children’s recitals.
