Bahrain is a culturally booming country these days as part of the 11th Spring of Culture program with several events, activities and concerts presented to the eagerly awaiting public. In addition, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is making the latest preparations to host the 17th Bahrain International Book Fair held from 24 March to 3 April 2016 at Bahrain National Museum and has always been under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The Museums Directorate at the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) has announced that cruises from the Bahrain National Museum to Qalat Bu Maher will be halted from February 28 to March 25 to pave the way for the preparations to launch the 17th Bahrain International Book Fair.
Held under the support of the Al-Baddad International Group, in the presence of Jordan as a guest of honor, the 17th Bahrain International Book Fair is part of BACA’s keenness on enriching the literary experience of local and regional readers through providing publications from all fields of knowledge to promote the culture of reading and build a book-loving society. The fair comprises many sections and encompasses the broad spectrum of the publishing industry in the Arab World which includes foreign titles, children’s books, teaching and e-leaning resources. The purpose of the exhibition is to showcase latest publications in all fields of knowledge, to install a culture of reading and learning in the Bahraini society.
During last year’s Bahrain International Book Fair more than 350 publishers participated, with Egypt as the guest of honor, presenting a number of intellectual, scientific and entertaining events for children in a complete intellectual programme.
