Bahrain Culture Authority Wins the Arab Best Smart Phone Applications

The Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities has won a trophy after participating in the Smart Government Awards Contest for ‘Arab Best Smart Phone Application’ for authorities and community organizations at its seventh session held in Kuwait on 27 April 2016. BACA’s head of Human Resources, Mrs. Suha Matar, received the award on behalf of H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa during the ceremony held in the capital of Kuwait under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and in cooperation between the Central Agency for Information Technology and the Excellence Awards Academy in Arab region.
BACA’s president stressed that the award underscores the tremendous achievements made by the Bahrain Culture Authority while deploying strenuous efforts in promoting the use of modern technologies and different resources in various fields to facilitate users’ access to its services. The award-winning application is an official guide which features all of BACA’s cultural events, including expos and workshops.
H.E Shaikha Mai lauded this achievement and argued that the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) won the Golden Award for Best Smart Phone Application in culture because it aims to highlight and promote Bahrain’s identity. H.E Shaikha Mai expressed her delight at the Arab honor and promised to continue dedicating efforts towards developing e-cultural content saying, “The Bahrain Culture application opens multi-doors to its users and allows them to witness amazing achievements made in this country in terms of heritage, culture and art.”
In a press conference, Pierre Moukarzel, president of the Pan Arab Excellence Awards Academy and head of the Gold Shield for Arab e-Government Web Awards, said that the choice of the winning smart phone applications has been selected by a technical experts group. The committee scrutinized the levels of creativity, user friendly easy access, application frame, interactivity, visual design, as well as the content and credibility of the application.
