H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) , welcomed , on 28 2018, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, at the at the “UNESCO Village”, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Manama, where the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee is being held.
H.E welcomed the Emirati ambassador, lauding the special relationship between Bahrain and the UAE and hailed the strong historic fraternal relations between Bahrain and the UAE, praising the positive role played by the UAE at the Arab and international levels. H.E described bilateral ties as a model of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) unity based on mutual respect and common denominators including religion, language, kinship, common destiny and unwavering commitment to protecting the security of the Arabian Gulf and ensuring its progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, H.E debriefed and showed H.E the Emirati ambassador the events presented at the UNESCO Village special tent, exhibitions and activities planned to showcase universal cultural heritage during the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee , which will run until 4 July.
Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador, expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa for her efforts leading to the successful organization of the first GCC and Arab world event, namely the UNESCO 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee, chaired by the Kingdom of Bahrain. UAE Ambassador lauded BACA’s efforts in culture and arts , affirming that the UAE will always support and appreciate the Bahraini cultural heritage.
