Culture Authority Attends EXPO 2020 Dubai’s GCC, Coordinating Meeting, Kuwait

 

A delegation from Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, led by  H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Director of Culture & Arts Directorate, accompanied by Mr. Hani Jamal, Director of the National Theater, has attended a  coordination meeting  on GCC common pavilion for Dubai Expo 2020. The meeting was held in Kuwait on 8& 9 January 2019 and was attended  GCC Secretariat representatives and delegates from Arab Gulf countries.

During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed may proposals, exchanged viewpoints with regards best offers and tenders presented so far and their evaluation according to required standards, guaranteeing, thus, an exceptional GCC participation at Dubai Expo 2020.  The participants agreed that the  pavilion should  a chance to demonstrate the unique collaboration of GCC countries, and the incredible achievements that have been made through working together, reflecting the modern historical development of the GCC countries, their special bond, cultural diversity, common qualities and shared vision.

Expo 2020 is a World Exposition to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, opening on October 20, 2020.With a theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, Expo 2020 aims to be a six-month celebration of creativity, innovation, humanity and world cultures.

Expo 2020 Dubai’s GCC pavilion is expected to draw 25 million visitors during the six months it is open, echoing the Expo 2020 Dubai theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. The expo will provide a platform to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration globally, and enhance cooperation regarding; Developing knowledge economy, the completion of development plans, as well as exchange ideas on global trends in line with the sub-themes of the event; Opportunity, Mobility, Sustainability.
