Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities continue to offer a bouquet of exceptional traditional folk music concerts throughout the historical houses in the Kingdom. On 12 January 2019, Dar al Muharraq welcomed, thus, Ismail Dawwas Folk Music Band taking the audience into sweet acoustic and beautiful rhythms, recollecting diverse traditional Bahraini music styles.
The performance highlighted the various styles of the uniquely Bahraini songs, especially the Fujairi tradition, a mystical genre whose roots go back to Bahrain’s world-famous pearling heritage, and most prominent arts reflecting part of the intangible local culture heritage.
Worth to mention that the Culture Authority plans periodically evenings of music at Dar al Muharraq and Dar al Riffa. Bahrain’s Culture Authority aims, through these popular music concerts, to document the intangible cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain. both Dars (Dar al Muharraq and Dar al Riffa) accommodate training program’s areas, workshop spaces, and related lectures. Both houses also welcome and host periodical cultural events that offer the opportunity to lovers of Bahraini famous traditional folk music to enjoy their sweet evenings.
