H.E Receives the Newly-Appointed  Russian Ambassador

 

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) received, on 20 January 2019, the newly-appointed Russian ambassador,  H.E. Mr. Igor Kremnev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed her guest, stressing the depth of the good relations between the two countries and praised the deep-rooted bilateral cooperation ties in various fields especially in the cultural fields. H.E made reference to  the hosting  of“In the Land of Dilmun, Where the Sun Rises” exhibition by the Hermitage State Museum in St. Petersburg  on show  from December 2017 until April 2018.  The Russian Hermitage Museum had previously  hosted the "Tylos History" exhibition in 2012.

During the meeting, H.E Shaikha Mai briefed the ambassador on BACA’s main cultural activities and events for 2019, baptized  2019, as the “Year of Celebrations”,  introducing a number of principal events that shaped the Kingdom of Bahrain's Modern history, throughout a number of remarkable cultural, economic and social  achievements over 100 years. H.E said that BACA aspires to open vaster vistas of cooperation between Bahrain and Russia in view of the two countries’ rich cultural and heritage assets, H.E added.

The Russian  ambassador expressed his pride in the level of Bahraini-Russian relations reached so far, and his admiration of BACA’s programs and projects to be implemented in the upcoming period, affirming his readiness to enrich the cultural and artistic cooperation through mutual presence in the cultural scene of both countries.
