Dar Al Muharraq Hosts the Famous Fjiri Art Concert
Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, Keen to revive the sweetest memories of the genuine Bahraini culture’s elements, organized on 26 January 2019, a folk traditional music concert performed by Dar Jinnah Band at Dar al Muharraq.
During the music concert event, the band offered a bouquet of exceptional traditional famous Muharraq’s city folk music performances, namely the Fijjri art, the unique, mystical genre traces its roots back to the days of the island’s glorious pearling legacy. Fjiri music art echoed throughout the alleyways of time and place in Muharraq and elsewhere, nourish the soul with the fruits of Bahrain’s intangible heritage, and enjoy the live Bahraini musical performances of the Fijri tradition.
Worth to mention that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities periodically organizes music concerts at Dar al Muharraq and Dar al Riffa, aiming at documenting the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Both ‘Dars’ (Dar al Muharraq and Dar al Riffa) accommodate training program’s areas, workshop spaces, and related lectures. Both houses also welcome and host periodical cultural events that offer the opportunity to lovers of Bahraini famous traditional folk music to enjoy their sweet evenings.
