With the aim of restoring its original identity, the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) invites all those who have information about the minaret of Al-Fadhel Mosque in Manama from the 1940s to the 1960s to share their images, video clips or original illustrations that document the original look of the minaret.
BACA is currently working on a project, sponsored by HH Shaikha Mariam bint Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to restore the architectural design and details of the minaret of Al-Fadhel Mosque to how they were when it was first constructed, thus enhancing its harmony with the unique urban fabric surrounding it in the capital of coexistence and cultural diversity.
Photos, video clips and documents may be sent to BACA via its website (www.culture.gov.bh) or by e-mail (minaret@culture.gov.bh). They may also be delivered in person to the BACA building. Those whose works are selected for the project will be given the opportunity to participate in the restoration work.
Worth to mention that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) held the inaugural meeting of the Manama Calls initiative on Thursday, January 24, 2019. The meeting, which took place at the Bahrain National Museum Lecture Hall, was attended by Her Excellency Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of BACA, and Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, as well a number of officials, media, and residents of Manama.
