Al-Jasra Handicrafts Center Announces the Start of Creative and Traditional Handicrafts Workshops Program: Open Registration for 10 crafts

The traditional and creative crafts’ workshops training program, which is Bahrain Authority for Culture Antiquities (BACA), started yesterday, on 22 May 2021, at Al -Jasra Handicraft Center. The program aims to introduce and discover the techniques of the traditional and unique Bahraini crafts for those interested in handiworks. The training program began with two workshops, namely “Al-Naqda” and “Saff Al Khoos” that will last four weeks, offering the participants the opportunity to discover the history and human- related conditions that led to their existence, as well learn the basic modern and traditional skills and techniques of handicrafts.

In addition, the workshops and handicraft training program includes 10 traditional and contemporary crafts’ workshops aimed at training participants in traditional handicrafts in the Kingdom of Bahrain and creative industries, including: Al-Naqda, Saff al Khoos ( Palm Frond Weaving), Clay Shaping (pottery), Hand Embroidery, Silversmithing , Macrame weaving ( ropes and threads knitting), Resin formation and 3D Printing.

In compliance with the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and to preserve the safety of the trainees and trainers, participation is permitted only for those who have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus and a limited number of participants, as all this detailed information can be obtained upon registration and visiting the authority's website on www.culture.gov.bh
