Al-Jasra Handicrafts Center Welcomes the Visit of Ajman Businesswomen Council in the United Arab Emirates

A delegation of the Ajman Businesswomen Council in the United Arab Emirates headed by Her Excellency Amna Khalifa Al Ali, the Chairwomen of the council, visited Al Jasra Handicrafts Center, on 10 November 2021. Ms. Shouq Al Alawi, Director of the Handicrafts Department at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities welcomed the delegation.

During the visit, both parties discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between both sides with regard to traditional crafts and industries, as well as enhancing the expertise and knowledge exchange between the craftsmen of both countries.

The visit witnessed a discussion of ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of crafts and traditional industries, in addition to enhancing the exchange of experiences and knowledge between artisans from both countries.

Ms. Shawq Al-Alawi welcomed the delegation from the Emirate of Ajman, expressing her happiness with this visit, which reflects the endeavors of Al Jasra Center to consolidate the relationship with the authorities specialized in the fields of entrepreneurship and creativity in brotherly countries in order to advance craft work and preserve cultural heritage.

The visit included a field tour of Al Jasra Handicrafts Center, whereby members of the UAE delegation toured the center’s facilities, its artisans’ workshops, the types of traditional crafts, production and craftsmanship, in addition to the activities and events it offers through the center’s general cultural program. In addition, the delegation visited store “Made in Bahrain” gift shop store in Al-Jasra village and learned about the experience of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in developing the traditional crafts’ products to maintain their sustainability.

It is worth mentioning that the Ajman Businesswomen Council is a non-profit council that falls under the umbrella of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was established in 2005, featuring businesswomen in the Emirate of Ajman with a noble mission of advancing the role of women, empowering, and motivating to become partners in the development process
